Kapiti Birthing – Supporting natural childbirth

About Us

Kapiti Birthing is an exciting and new innovation by a collective of women passionate about keeping birth normal and natural. We feel that all women have a right to a dignified and satisfying birth experience and that all women have an inherent ability to birth. Using a holistic approach we hope to prepare women and their whanau for pregnancy, birth and parenting. Our primary focus at this time is providing antenatal education and establishing postnatal networks and support for parents.

Kapiti Birthing is entirely run by a small group of volunteers. If you have been to one of our classes and want to help out you are very welcome to get involved!

We run a coffee group on the third monday of every month (except January) at Saarsha House, 255 Te Moana Road, Waikanae at 10:00am.

Our classes run for five weeks and usually run four times a year. You can read birth stories written by people who have been to our classes on our feedback page.
